Crown Lengthening
When is this performed?
In order for a fabricated crown to have proper stabillity there has to be enough tooth structure. In cases where the tooth is deficient the surgery helps to expose more tooth than there was before the surgery, letting the stability of the crown be higher.
General Cleaning
How many time a year is a dental cleaning required?
2 to 4 times depending on the particular case. Dental cleaning consist of removing calculus from the teeth and gums + polishing the teeth.
Deep Cleaning
Whats the difference?
The deference between regular cleaning and deep cleaning is that in the second one the patient has to be anesthetized because and instrument will go under the gums in order to remove the calculus that is build there. Otherwise the procedure would hurt.
Bone Graft
In what kind of cases are bone grafts needed?
Bone graft can be used in many cases from an alveolar ridge preservation to a sinus lift.
Gingival Graft
In what cases is a Gingival graft used?
Commonly used to help with the width of the keratinized band of gums around an implant. In order to have a healthy implant it need bone and keratinized tissue around it.
